How to Properly Lift your New 2020 Silverado 1500

Installing an Icon Stage 4 Suspension System

When one of our expert salesman went out and purchased a new 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 RST it gave us an opportunity to build another top notch truck to showcase great products. Brian weighed all his options and decided to go with the Stage 4 suspension system from Icon Vehicle Dynamics. Wanting the best of both worlds, he knew that the Icon suspension system would provide a great ride for daily driving but capabilities to hit the dirt. Living in Southern California gives us many opportunities to go off road with a short drive to the desert or up into the snow packed mountains. The Icon suspension was a pretty easy choice.

We didn't waste anytime leaving Brian's truck stock and tore into it almost immediately. The Icon Stage 4 Billet lift suspension system is completely bolt on and requires no cutting or welding. This is nice since it is a brand new truck and all. The Icon extended travel remote reservoir coil overs have an adjustable pre-load collar to allow from 1.5" to a maximum 3.5" of lift. Combine that with the badass Billet upper control arms with Icon patented Delta Joint ball joint UCA and you get both style with function. The new Icon Billet Delta Joint upper arms provide an additional 1" of wheel travel which makes a significant increase in driver comfort on and off road. The remote reservoir mounts up front for better cooling and easy access to the CDCV adjuster. The Icon CDCV is a Compression Dampening Control Valve which allows you to stiffen or soften your suspension ride. This is a great feature since you can take this Silverado RST through so many different terrains.

Icon Rear 2.5 Shock 2020 Silverado 1500

Out back we installed the Icon 2.5" diameter piggyback reservoir shocks with CDCV to compliment the front suspension upgrades. We recommend the CDCV especially if you tow with your new 2020 Silverado 1500 because stiffening up the rear shock helps keep the truck from bucking around on the highway. We added a 1" rear block to sit the truck level because we set the front to a 3.25" lift height. This makes for a nice stance and great clearance for the 35" tall Nitto Ridge Grappler tires. We mounted the Nitto tires on Icon Alloy 17x8.5 Compression wheels in titanium gray color. The combination of Icon wheels and Nitto tires fit the Silverado 1500 RST with very minor trimming.

We loved how this new 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 RST turned out with the Icon Stage 4 Suspension system. The 3.25" lift clears the large 35" Nitto tires perfectly and the Icon Titanium Compression wheels add great off road styling. Driving the Silverado RST with the new Icon suspension only proves we made the right decision. Believe it or not, the ride on the street got even smoother without even touching the CDCV adjuster knobs. We turned up the dial a few clicks and were blown away with how this 2020 Chevy Silverado handled wash outs and small whoops. We give Icon an A+ for their Stage 4 suspension on the new Chevy Silverado 1500.
