Baggett Races to Top Ten Finish at Arlington SX | SoCal SuperTrucks Backed Team RockyMountain ATV/MC Race Report

SoCal SuperTrucks Supported Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC made their way to the longhorn state this past Saturday night as round eight of the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross Series took over AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. This was the second Triple Crown of the season, and Blake Baggett was back in action using good starts to earn another top-10 finish.

Blake Baggett started Main Event 1 outside of the top 5 in 8th place after lap one. He set his sights forward and started cutting his way through the field. Blake glided over the whoops to make quick work of his competition early in the race. He used that speed to move just outside the top five. He then slid back a few spots, taking the first checkered flag in 10th place. Blake timed the gate perfectly in Main Event 2, leading the field through turn one, grabbing the holeshot. Blake tried to defend his lead, but he came under attack early in the race and slid back to 2nd by the end of lap one. He matched the pace of the leader, gapping the rest of the field as he continued to fight for the lead. Blake’s strong race would unravel after the midway point, however, as he washed out the front end entering one of the slippery rhythm sections. He jumpped back on his bike and recovered for an 8th place finish. The gate dropped for Main Event 3 and it was Blake once again leading the charge into the first turn. After sliding back a few spots, Blake lost his front end at the end of the first rhythm section while mounting a charge for 3rd place. He remounted outside the top 15 and pushed his way through the field to take the checkered flag in 13th place to earn a 10th place overall.

“Things didn’t go as planned tonight. My starts were there and felt I had the speed to run up front. The track was tricky, and I just didn’t minimize the mistakes. The main thing is we leave here healthy and are headed in the right direction. I am looking forward to Atlanta next weekend and getting back on the podium."
