Blake Baggett entered into round two ready to keep his momentum from the opening round last weekend. In the first 450 heat race, Blake executed perfect gate timing and raced down the start straight, securing the holeshot. After the first turn, he quickly found himself in a tense battle within the top five. He hit his lines and the SoCal SuperTrucks supported rider took the checkered flag in 5th place to transfer straight to the main event. In the main, Blake started the race buried back in 15th, but quickly made his way up to 10th place. After a battle with Dean Wilson and Aaron Plessinger at the tail end of the top 10, Blake found himself going back and forth with Justin Hill for 10th place for over half the race. He finally made his move in one of the tricky rhythm sections with less than 3 minutes remaining. He closed the gap on the next rider before running out of time, taking the checkered flag in 9th place.

“Tonight didn’t go how I wanted. My start wasn’t there in the main and I found myself buried in the pack. We still have a few changes that we need to make on the bike and we will back battling for a top-three next week at Anaheim.”

Justin Bogle was hoping to turn things around from last week as he timed the gate perfectly at the start of his heat race taking the lead after the first turn. Justin was showing tremendous speed, and he even pulled on the rest of the pack in the first few laps. It looked like the race Justin’s to win, until he pushed a bit too hard coming into the turn at the start of the rhythm section. He mistimed the jump and got sent to the ground. After getting back on his bike, Justin charged his way back into a transfer spot finishing 9th. In the main event, Justin got pinched at the start, rounding the first turn buried deep in the pack. He fought his way forward to 15th place by the checkered flag.

“While my result doesn’t show it, tonight was a step in the right direction. It felt good to lead a few laps in my heat, I just didn’t get the start I needed tonight in the main to run in the top ten. We will keep pushing forward, make a few changes on the bike and be ready for Anaheim 2 next weekend.”
