Baggett, Bloss End Season at Salt Lake City 7 SX | SoCal SuperTrucks Supported Team RockyMountain ATV/MC Race Report

It was the final time SoCal SuperTrucks backed Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC entered Rice-Eccles Stadium for SLC7 and the final round of the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross Series.

Blake Baggett

Blake Bagget came into the last round ready to finish the season strong. He shot out of the gate in his heat race coming around the first turn in third place. Blake would not let the intense daytime heat get to him, as he kept the pressure on Zack Osborne for second place until a mistake at the end of a rhythm section pushed him back a few spots. He would hold his position and cross the finish line in 5th place to transfer straight to the main. Blake would get pinched at the start of the main event, nearly ending up in a first turn pile up and started deep in the pack in 15th . Unfortunately he would not find his groove on the slick, dried out track, and would the finish line in 16th place.

Benny Bloss

Benny Bloss started the day riding fast, posting the 5th quickest time in qualifying. His heat race would not start out as well although. As the gates dropped he rounded the first turn at the very end of the top ten. He soon found himself working his way forward and crossed the finish line in 7th place to take a spot in the main event. Benny started 5th in the main event and quickly moved up to 4th. He ran in 4th position until the half way mark of the race, then closed in on Dean Wilson to battle for 3rd. Just as he made a move to close onto Wilson’s rear wheel, Benny would go down in a rhythm section. He would get back on his KTM in 6th place behind Eli Tomac and find his rhythm there. Unfortunately, as the track quickly deteriorated, Benny would go down in a slippery bowl turn and spend some time trying to remount. Though the overall finishing position shows a number in the back half, Bloss certainly proved to himself that he has the natural speed needed to make the podium, and now gets to carry that momentum into the Outdoors.

The team will now take a break and prepare for the 2020 Pro Motocross Outdoor Championship, which will start on July 18th at Ironman MX in Crawfordsville, IN.
